Ms. Cotton started her career in dentistry in San Diego working as a chairside dental assistant, acquiring her skills "on the job". She received her Registered Dental Assistant license in 1994, totaling 21 years experience, spanning from general dentistry to multi-specialty practices.

Jessica expands her education annually by attending the California Dental Association convention, and has studied with many of the leading innovators in dentistry such as, The Hornbrook Dental Group and The Las Vegas Institute for Dentistry. Jessica currently has 5 years experience teaching dental assisting in various colleges in California. She finds enormous pleasure in sharing her expertise with her students and welcomes the ability to change lives through SCDI.

A Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, Dr. Staples patented, designed and commercially developed a revolutionary orthodontic palate expander. He has more than 30 years of experience in the field and is excited about the many technical innovations that continually present themselves to the orthodontic profession.

As school director, Dr. Staples oversees the curriculum and also handles some instructor duties in the Orthodontic Assisting program. Dr. Staples is a caring professional who has recognized the need for highly trained dental and orthodontic assistant team members, and he founded this school to meet that need.

Dr. Staples has his orthodontic practice in Mission Viejo, California where he lives with his wife and two miniature schnauzers. He has three grown children, enjoys boating , fishing, hunting, woodworking and is a big Angels fan.
